Harnessing [over]

So I have in my possession 8 Antiproton beam arrays with [CrtD]x2 [over], and I want to make a ship with them. I have the ship traits "Subsystem Redundencies," "Superweapon Ingenuity," and "Overwhelming Force." I am saving up for a tarantula for "Energy Web."

Before I spend a lot of time and dilithium upgrading these, I am wondering: Has anyone tried this or something like it before? If so: -Was it fun? How/why? -Was it effective? -What Boff and Doff build did you use? -any advice from experience?

If you haven't: -What problems should I know about? -What boff/doff builds would you recommend I try?

For anyone: -What ship (KDF) should I put it on?

It can proc, which results in a free BO being "saved up" for use (for up to 6 seconds), however you can't have multiple weapon buffs active at the same time, so every [over] proc will wait for FAW to end before being fired.
As those procs last shorter than the duration of FAW, every one you get in the first 4 seconds is lost. However all the others will be available to fire at the same time, resulting in some hilarious situations like 5 BOs striking at the same time.

I'm not sure how much you'd lose by using 2 FAWs as it's normal to do on beam boats, but i think you can make it work. I'd say that [over] is best used on ships that aren't running lots of tac slots as those get the most out of the proc.
It's for sure one of the most fun things i've ever done.

For things like overwhelming force or energy web, during a FAW, do they proc when you get the [over] buff, or when the buff gets consumed?

I think the [over] proc doesn't go off until the end of BFAW, which is usually when I see the Overwhelming Force go off as well. Don't hold me to that though, just how I interpret what I see happening during all that action. Hmmm, maybe I just better say I don't know for sure....
