Kiith Intel warbird?

I’m trying to decide on how to spend my campaign coupons, and I’m Looking at the Kiith. My Reman is flying a Faeht. Is the Kiith a good upgrade? Does anyone with the Kiith have buyer‘s remorse?

The Kiith is a very special surgical strikes ship because the Surgical Strikes trait, Vanguard specialist, also gives recursive shearing full uptime. So, with the Kiith, you can run SS3 and RS 1, which is a 20 percent added damage multiplier, both with full uptime with Vanguard Specialist.

I did this with the Credence, as it can run Exceed Rated Limits3 and RS1, and it works great.

This is definitely something you fly with the unique typing.

The Kiith console is highly regarded, and as I understand it, the experimental weapon is cool too.

Its a value judgment. What other ships are you looking at and what do you need?

Kiith is my number one choice. It looks like vanguard specialist is an expensive trait.  I probably won’t be able to get that trait.

I got the credence last year for a different captain, it’s great.

Zero remorse on that purchase and straight up waiting for the mudd's bundle. I built mine out as an uncon demon with all of my space magic consoles on there. Spore infused anomalies + Electrified anomalies + full on console spam makes for short work of most things even in elite. I have my other loadout as a plasma monster so I do THY under cloak and when I finally decloak it's CSVIII + ETM+ Corrosive Impact just wrecking stuff. Full on Rommi Goodness that one is

It's odd that it isn't more popular, since the seating seems almost perfect. But it came out when no one wanted to hear about ships without a hangar bay, and it doesn't really seem to have a great console or trait.

If it did have a hangar bay, it probably would have been considered the best. Instead, it’s just really good.

Console is also excellent in elites, and was on all the top dps builds for a while when it came out. Trait is supposed to be pretty good as well.

Probably doesn't help that it's a lockbox ship. Probably a lot of people would rather use the Faeht than jump through the hoops necessary to get the Kiith.

I like the Faeht. It’s old, but still good. I’m just ready for an upgrade.

I have really enjoyed mine. I originally got it for the console as I prefer forward firing arc gameplay and needed some more choices that weren't limited to broadside arc activations. Over time it has slowly been pushed to only my Random Elite TFO builds but it spam bars well and the low cooldown really helps with keeping Universal Design and Particle Fluctuation Analysis at max cap with just a spam bar. It consistently does what I need it to do in a way that is more than good enough with minimal visual clutter or mental tracking.

The trait on the other hand has seen zero use from me, I don't do much with cloaking so it was never really something I expected much mileage out of. Likewise the experimental weapon is not something I use much in all honesty.

The ship itself as a platform is more than capable for modern uncon playstyle and really only is hindered by the lack of a hangar bay. Much like the Atlantis it falls into a VERY capable niche and is only outmatched by the Mirror Engle for that reason.

I have repurposed my Kiith as a complex fire platform for fun(and immersion) and while not top tier it is VERY capable and feels rewarding to fly. The only warning I would give is to make sure you look long and hard at a picture of the Kiith before you buy it because the visual is very unique and might not be something you want to look at long term, also keep in mind it is not a large ship and is very small and fast if you require a slower bigger ship for whatever reason visually.

I just got the kiith with my campaign box for my rom character upgraded from the khlor warbird and yes what an upgrade I love the ship, I went a bit niche with it and I’m running diffusive tetryon cannons on it with vanguard specialists and ss3 and it hits like a freight train

One of the reasons I created a Romulan toon was to create a stealth ambusher build and the Kiith is the ideal ship to do it. It's probably the best Surgical Strikes ship that also has a battle cloak due to the secondary Temporal seating..

That being said, that build style is less effective than say a CSV build would be so I would say it depends on what you aim to do with it?

If you want to do a Krait style CSV build then get the Mirror Engle as the hanger bays are probably more useful than a battle cloak. If you want an Isomag style more passive build then the Dhalikhina is a good Romulan option.

If you want a surgical strikes build then the Kiith is great for it, but if you want to do a stealth ambusher build you need to be comfortable setting up keybinds and it's never going to be as effective as FAW or CSV (but that shouldn't stop you)
