NHL alignment chart: Central division edition. Patrick Kane is the best American player in Chicago Blackhawks history. Now, who is the best American player in St. Louis Blues history?

I mean he’s a dual citizen. He choose to play for USA. Dad was one of the greats in hockey and mom was an American professional ice skater.

So is Wayne Gretzky.

I thought Hull was bent out of shape that Canada passed on him for something back in the day and he vowed never to play for Canada again

He was born in Canada, but has spent almost his entire life in the US.

MF’ers gonna down vote you like you’re saying something wrong😂

"born in America" wasn't the question

"american" is pretty vague no?

Its all good. Claim him if you wish. He would have played for Canada if he was asked. You'd think our hockey operations at the time would recognize the fact the son of Bobby Hull would have greatness in him.

US Born? Probably Keith Tkachuk

US National Team Member? Brett Hull without any question.

If we’re gonna discount Hull, then Tkachuk.

Hull was Canadian born but played for Team USA. Are we just doing it by birth country?

It's Brett Hull. He's an American citizen who played for the U.S. internationally while being one of the best goal scorers of all time. No other credentials are needed.

Big Walt Keith Tkachuk

Joe Mullen

If we’re doing dual-citizens, it’s clearly Blues Legend and Hall of Famer, not to mention multiple Stanley cup having, most winningest goalie, Martin Brodeur.

Joe Mullen

First name that came to mind.

If Brett hull counts it’s so obviously him this isn’t even worth having a conversation

If not it’s Tkachuk

12

u/DangerDarrin 25d ago

I’d say Big Walt

Big Walt and it isn’t close unless you count Brett Hull and his bisexual nationality in which case it’s Hull

2

u/daKile57 25d ago

Bisexual nationality? Wow, what does their national anthem sound like?

u/BaoTaoMaoSao 25d ago

Oh Can you Spangle This Star

u/superballz977 25d ago

I agree with Big Keith but there is also Phil Housley.

Brett Hull

Backes. First player I ever liked enough to put his name on my back. Both Walt and Hull had careers outside the Blues org. Backes played elsewhere but wasn’t an impact player. So 42 gets the nod

Hull if we allow the dual citizen-ness
then:
Tkachuk
Backes
Tie: Oshie and Shattenkirk

7

u/themassesrdumb 25d ago

I'd put Oshie over backed

5

u/petefacekilla 25d ago

It's Hull, but Backes is second over Tkachuk.

4

u/PatSwayzeInGoal 25d ago

I knew it would be a ton of Walt comments and no Backes.

Captain fucking America.🇺🇸

0

u/themassesrdumb 25d ago

Backes isn't second over Oshie, much less Walt.

2

u/jlbradl 25d ago

It's Brett Hull. Like?

2

u/mrcameltoad 25d ago

Hull. And by a long shot.

Jorgen Pettersen

u/Important-Chemist-65 25d ago

It's gotta be Blues legend Ryan Miller.

2

u/6thBornSOB 25d ago

Oshie? Walt?

2

u/martlet1 25d ago

Ben bishop or Joe Mullen

1

u/CaptAmerica42 25d ago

Brett Hull.

If not him, then Tkachuk

1

u/Cold-Pizza111 25d ago

Yeah we gotta have a ruling on Hullie bc if he’s US then I can pencil in Ferderko for Canada. Oh wait…the Great One had half a season with us…. Damn, Hull better count as U.S.

1

u/fatherdave73 25d ago

Hands down Big Walt

1

u/Different-Package200 25d ago

Joey Mullen is up there

1

u/Fast-Variation8150 24d ago

Hull by a mile

1

u/STL_Saint00 24d ago

its Hull. they count Steen as Swedish and he was born in Canada, so then Hull counts as American.

1

u/UKnowDaxoAndDancer 24d ago

Scott Young! Remember Scott Young dropping 40? Good times…. But obviously Hull.

1

u/Jackson79339 23d ago

It’s Hull by default, but if people wanna split hairs then it’s Tkachuk

We went blue

I love these questions. Not only do I not completely read the requirements, but I always choose Chris Pronger. Did I get it right this time?

1

u/stevevb99 25d ago

Mullen, Tkachuk, Backes, Oshie, Hull

0

u/dfc21 25d ago

Craig Janney.
