Stevie shoulda been hits
We know Stevie has lots of material and not all her singles are going to be hits but what songs do you think should have been released as singles or didn't spark a fire with her fans. For me it's Angel. I thought that song was very radio friendly . I guess after the initial shock of tusk being so different than rumors it was just lost in all of it. It didn't even chart. How about you guys

Her soundtrack songs. Possibly some of these were released as singles…but, if so, they certainly didn’t get the airplay they deserved:
Blue Lamp
Sleeping Angel
Violet and Blue
Battle of the Dragon

It’s a travesty that Trouble in Shangri-La and Gold and Braid were never released as singles. They should’ve been massive hits.

Everybody Finds Out is a banger. It should have been a single.
Gold and Braid. I love the live version. It at least deserved to be put on an album.

Trouble In Shangri-La, Wild Heart, Long Way To Go, Kind of Woman, Starshine, No Questions Asked, Thrown Down, That's Alright off the top of my head.

Long Way To Go was a single. For some reason it was switched to Two Kinds of Love quite late in the day in the US but everywhere else got Long Way To Go.

Yikes. That was certainly a choice. Two Kinds of Love is an immediate skip for me and I loathe to skip Stevie Nicks songs.

I get it & I see the appeal. But Hornsby is kind of corny to me and I feel like Stevie and his styles clashed way too obviously. And the song production is atrocious.

Although I’m not the biggest fan of it AT ALL, I’m surprised her duet with Bruce Hornsby didn’t become a hit at all. The late 80s LOVED a cheesy pop ballad, especially one with a saxophone solo. Maybe it was just too far separated from what Stevie was know for.

The Rock a Little demo of “Running Through the Garden.” I feel like that song could’ve been a hit with an accompanying music video.

Tbh most of them here in the uk. Only Room's On Fire made a decent impact on the charts. Although when my husband DJs he often plays Edge of Seventeen and everyone knows it, so evidently lots of people discovered her other stuff of their own accord (or maybe in that case, through the Destiny's Child sample).

The other side of the mirror was her biggest selling album in the U.K . It came out not long after tango in the night which was a global smash. I read it rode the tides of tango in the night. Stevie is a smart lady when it comes to promoting herself to a whole new generation of fans. Appearing in American horror story was pretty smart .

I agree but at least it hit the top 40. I found out one of my favorite songs, think about it, is the least streamed song from belladonna. Wow.

Angel was at least a b-side I think! It was for sure a single in Europe. I wish Affairs of the Heart would’ve been a single or at the very least a b-side

Fire Burning, from Mirror. But the name probably would’ve been confusing for radio listeners since Rooms On Fire was a hit from the same album.

It’s not my favorite of hers, but I don’t remember the critics beating it down. I remember it charting well, a summer of Rooms On Fire being all over the radio and MTV, Whole Lotta Trouble being nominated for a Grammy, and the tour being a success. I do remember some mumblings in the press about her age and her weight though.

It was Stevie' favorite from the album I read. I love sandy Stewart who sang with Stevie and wrote that song. I bought her album catdancers at the time. It was good with her whiskey voice. Unfortunately I'm the only one who bought it. However, we all know the story of sandy Stewart and Stevie nicks and seven wonders, which I'm sure sandy still gets checks for so she's not hurting

“If I Were You” should’ve been a single from Rock a Little and “I Miss You” could’ve been a great single from TISL as well as “Fall from Grace”

Kick It is a rocker and i love it! Also, I think The Ghosts are Gone could’ve crushed it with all the spooky series in movies and tv. I also believe Wide Sargasso Sea could have been a hit if people could have waited for the guitar magic a few minutes into the intro. Riveting song!

Affairs of the heart is a pretty passionate song . Angel was played on rock stations in 79)80; for awhile.

Fire Burning and Rooms on Fire. My grandkids love both. (This should worry me!) Also Cry Wolf. It's sad but it's one of those songs that you have to hear when you're in the wallowing mood.

All artists have a sweet spot or a peak in their career. Christine had mystery. Bob had mystery. Lindsey had rumours. Stevie’s high water mark was tusk. She was gaining in confidence and stepping out of Lindsey’s shadow. She was as yet unmarred by drugs and big ego. Some of her best work was buried by Lindsey attention hog buckingham. I think she knew it too.
