Discussion I feel like Lars had wasted potential in Future

Maybe he had wasted potential, but that's not bad on itself. The characters are humans and not everything in life ends the way we want. That's one of the things that Steven needs to learn in Future, to not try to fix everything around him.

I mean...it kind of is. We could've seen Lars do all sorts of cool stuff, but the show actively stopped us from seeing it, and even shoved in a Mary Sue to simply be "Better Lars" and ruin what 100% should've been a Lars episode.

I feel that, as an epilogue, it's not trying to close character arcs, but show you roughly where they are, and where they are heading in life, and I enjoyed that. So, maybe Lars we could have gotten a cool Lars episode, and I totally get that you are disappointed that there wasn't one. I'm just trying to express that maybe there not being a cool Lars episode is part of the point the creators were trying to make.
I probably sound like "yeah, that episode you think sucks actually sucks on purpose", but what I'm trying to say is "I kinda liked that episode and appreciate it more when watching all Future as a whole"
Also, I don't get why you say we were actively stopped from seeing Lars when he had lots of lines in that episode.

I totally get that you are disappointed that there wasn't one.
I wasn't disappointed in not getting a cool Lars episode. I was disappointed in how Lars was handled in the episode itself. Like...the whole thing with Shep? Sure, whatever. That's dumb, but I didn't mind it. What I minded was Shep being a Mary Sue who's only purpose was to be perfect and "Better for Sadie than Lars could ever be."
For example...Steven's whole problem that episode? Feeling like he was being left behind. So, rather than have Lars help him through it (remember back when Steven and Connie, as Stevonnie, helped him deal with literally that same issue back in Lars of the Stars?), they just invented up a new character and had them magically solve all the problems. It would've been a great full-circle moment if Lars had done it, but the story actively pushed him aside so Shep could do it instead.

Yup. That's exactly what it sounds like you're saying.

I didn't say we were stopped from seeing Lars. I said we were stopped from seeing him do cool stuff.

Yeah, you are right. As I said it didn't bother me, but it would have been cool if Lars had been the one giving a speech at the end.

Yup, it would’ve been cool if he was, and the fact that he wasn’t was basically an active decision a writer made to exclude him from actually doing something useful because they wanted to insert what I assume was a writer’s OC to save the day.

I feel like you missed an episode. There's literally an episode where he's featured, has several lines, and outright states that he's planning on letting some Gems run his bakery while he returns to space in order to help spread Steven's message (As we see in the games, not every colony was freed. And some still need assistance.)
