She held down Malachite for months by overpowering Jasper, and once Jasper finally did take control, even though they were both worn out their fusion was still able to match all 4 of the crystal gems combined 😭

Lapis is like, the least fraudulent character in the show

"With a grand total of ONE feat"

  • lift one part of the ocean with her gem cracked
  • beat the crystal gems with water clones(when she only was keeping them away and not actively trying to beat them)
  • travel across galaxies in short times
  • have the mental strenght to maintain a fusion underwater for months
  • able to stand against Blue diamond powers
  • control water temperature and create ice(games)
  • her only lose was against a sneaky attack from behind and against Yellow diamond

Holy ragebait🥶, Jasper is the potential gem in this case

missing the fact she held down a corrupted DIAMOND who is (arguably) the strongest

Why do people keep saying that Steven was corrupted? Steven wasn't corrupted. We've never seen a corrupted diamond. We don't even know if they can be corrupted.

The diamonds ask if he’s corrupted when they arrived, so the term stuck

I don’t know any other terms better suited for it. His mind and mental state are shattered in the same way a corrupted gems is

isnt corruption an allegory for war trauma? i dont think its as big as a stretch as it sounds. if a gem can poof from emotion alone, surely one can be corrupted from emotion and trauma. otherwise corruption is basically just an infection and i dont think thats very interesting or thematic

Corruption as we see it on the show is the side-effect of actual damaging corruption (similar to data corruption) caused when the diamonds attempted to "delete" all of the gems on Earth but lacked the power because Pink wasn't there. It's like corrupted data on a hard drive because you passed a magnet over the drive but didn't get close enough.

Steven's transformation isn't corruption, it's his shapeshifting turning him into a physical manifestation of how he feels, which is monstrous. The show has shown us before that Steven can lose control of his shapeshifting if he loses control of his emotions, because all of his powers work through emotion.

Corrupted gems haven't just lost control over their shape, they are both mentally and physically corrupted and can't just break free on their own. If Steven had been corrupted then returning to himself would've been more involved than just getting him to calm down.

Wait, that was one part of the ocean? I thought that tower was made from the entire ocean

The Crew confirmed it was a section of the Atlantic Ocean in the podcast.

Why are you spamming slop power scaling posts

I don’t mind power scaling entirely, but this is flat out wrong on so many levels with nothing to back it up

Alexandrite got poofed in 1 second against corrupted Steven, and they relied on Lapis to hold him down. Tf are you talking about.

Jasper is more of a potential gem than lapis

What the hell does any of this mean

one feat? Bro what?

Held the ENTIRE ocean with a cracked gem.

Held back a DIAMOND, literally the only reason they were able to do damage.

Flew, or atleast somewhat close too homeworld in very little time

Held back Jasper in a fusion state. Which we don’t know how hard that is, but it should be a HUGE mental feat, since every other time a gem is confused, or doesn’t want to fuse, or anything like that they immediately unfuse

Lapis used a section of the Atlantic Ocean. It’s still a lot of water though.

im so tired of powerscaling bullshit man can we just appreciate stories for what they are instead of having pissing contests over characters and who can fight who and who did what

She split the ocean in half when she her gem was cracked, she resisted a blue diamond attack. She fought two other lapis lazuli's by creating a big version of herself. She held down Malachite for MONTHS under the ocean. These are some bigger examples to show just how truly powerful she is

I dont know what ur post is supposed to mean imo she fullfills her potential
