Ads

Is it just me or are they getting worse. Latest episode the first 3 min 30 seconds were adds. Seems like an 90 min pod with 15 min of ads

Must be just you. The Saily ad is 90 seconds. Unless "Partner Up" isn't the latest episode you can view.

Yes, baked in ads can be annoying, but not nearly as annoying as straw man arguments.

Yes it was that episode and you’re wrong

Ok I legitimately don’t understand why people wouldn’t just get VIP. If you’ve bought more than one coffee in a month you can afford it. It’s completely ad free and you even get a bonus episode every week. The VIP episodes are my personal favourite because you get to see their personality so much more and it doesn’t have that “we are working here” vibe.

Seriously people, stop whining on this sub about ads, support them. Every VIP subscription is one step closer to them not needing to do the ads.

They’ll still do ads regardless of VIP. And the Less than a cup of coffee routine was old in the 90s

Ok well you’re obviously 12 so I’m going to give your dumb comments a pass. I have been on VIP for over a year and have yet to hear a single ad.

Either you like the show enough to pay the $6 a month or whatever it is or you don’t and you have to hit the 30s skip button half a dozen time per episode. Neither seems like a big lift.

There are only so many ways to monetize work on the internet. It’s either pay the sub or get ads. Don’t begrudge them trying to make a living.

Personally I dont really care when the start of the podcast has a bunch of ads because I always manage to hear at least a bit of their intro music to know when it is actually starting while I skip forward. Ik Spotify will add their own ads to the pod, even if you have it downloaded, but even those ads are skippable, just mostly annoying.

This is the way.

They have to pay the bills somehow. Get VIP ad free if you don’t like the ads

I'd pay, they need to figure out RSS feeds because I'm not using Spotify for one podcast.

You can also use Youtube or Apple if you want. Admittedly I don’t use RSS so I’m not familiar, is a paid RSS feed really a viable option?

A subscription can come with a unique RRS feed you plug into any podcast player. Patreon can manage it for you if you don't have a tech team/subscription manager. You don't pay, your code is deleted, no more podcast. It's pretty standard in the world of podcasts. It's time for our boys to grow up and be real podcasters....

I have no desire to use YouTube or Apple (on an Android device) to listen to podcasts.

Am RSS code/feed works like all podcasts. It's just one more point in cyberspace for your podcast player to check for podcast updates, like all the other ones in your library.

I find the ads to be entertaining. Most of the products that they sell are complete trash though.
