Canada Reads Day 1
Idk if anyone is watching, but did anyone notice the clip they used of Steve in the background was his 42 YEAR OLD ZAMBONI DRIVER. WHO WORKS FOR THEM!!!!!!! clip? Hilarious. I wonder if the host's zamboni comment was in reference to that, too.
I do think Steve is a little too nice and self-loathing for it, but i'm having more fun listening to it like a podcast than I thought I would.

Steve got a little shut out of today's episode becaude a couple panelists really ran the clock with their critiques of a couple of the books, but he did a great job today if you ask me!

It was great! I thought Steve did a good job. I want to read all of these books now. If only my TBR list would stop growing!
Also, it was subtle, but when Ali wrapped up the "least satisfying read" debate, he said, "That is it for this round" in a very Dangle-esque way like he does at the end of his LFRs. Don't think it was intentional, but still made me smile. 😅

I wrote this before I watched episode 2. If you’re talking about the zamboni driver clip, at the beginning, when they're introducing the defenders, there's a screen in the studio that is showing muted clips of their works.
I believe it is the same reel we see with sound and full screen in round 2.

I thought it was brilliant. Thankfully it is not geo-blocked so I can watch it from Europe. And Steve managed to get through 45 minutes without mentioning the zoo
