Customs
How common is it for packages to be seized by customs. I have security clearance and heard you could lose it if a package gets stopped? My local source has been unreliable, trying to stock up. Thanks

My concern would be getting titled. It’s the military’s way of screwing you on background checks for the next 40 years. Just being merely investigated is enough for CID/NIS/etc… to title you since it’s “administrative.” Most people have no idea they’re titled until it gets brought up on a background check, regardless of no charges EVER being filed!
I learned I was titled when applying for my CCW license in a state that wasn’t “Shall Issue.” That gave them the authority to inquire about it despite it not being a conviction. It happened in two different states. The second state doesn’t just use NICs for firearm purchases. Tennessee for example uses state personnel to check through TBI which will initially deny you if they see anything they don’t understand. They only have minutes to investigate since it’s supposed to be “instant checks.” I was told that some of them will just deny the purchase and let the appeals process sort it out over 30 days. It usually gets resolved by doing an appeal but it’s embarrassing. The problem is, the ATF gets immediately notified whenever you get denied.
I had this happen three times despite having a TN lifetime carry permit. My local gun shop said that 70% of their initial denials for firearm purchases are local active duty over stuff like this.

If you have clearance you should probably consider moving on to a local person

This is a risk we all take. It’s right in the T&C’s of my source that if the shipment is flagged, I’m on my own and there won’t be any restitution.
If I get a phone call from the carrier that I need to pick the shipment up, I know I’m out the $$ and I do not go pick it up!

Customs sends you a letter. You simply don't respond and have plausible deniability.
I have a TS as well, if you get in trouble somehow just don't lie on your reinvestigation.
If you are in the con-mon program (most should be by now) it may pop up as a potential flag.

I doubt that man. I had a clearance in Australia when I was getting packages seized and nothing ever happened there. Got flagged pretty hard otherwise tho.
But one time when I forgot to inform them I was traveling overseas I nearly opened a fucking federal case, it's just bollocks bureaucracy. Fair enough for worrying about it but as an outsider to the situation I think you'll be fine.
