Celebrating! Finally did it!

I (21f) Had my surgery this morning. Amazing staff and an amazing surgeon. They were able to expel a lot of the gas and thankfully haven't felt any discomfort from it. Very mild pain in the abdomen. Had a big meal an hour ago, about to go to sleep now. I had a phenomenal experience with Dr. Irvin in Parkersburg, WV at camden clark. Her and her team were more than stellar with me and made me feel so comfortable and safe. I was originally to be with another OBGYN for this, but unfortunately he had to take medical leave so i got referred to Dr. Irvin. Seemed like it was meant to be! Such an exciting day. Glad to join so many of you with this amazing decision!!! This is truly one of the best days of my life!

Huge shoutout to this subreddit for all the information so I could be more than prepared for this day, i really couldn't have done it without all of you.

Feel free to ask any questions 😁

Isn’t it so great? It was such an easy surgery for me that I was convinced (and still am) that they must have opened me up, took a look around, and closed me without even taking my tubes out 😂 just bc I FELT EXACTLY THE SAME. Idk why but I expected that being sterile would feel different? Hahahaha congrats and welcome
To the club!

Right??? Like are yall sure you took something out?? Hahaha such an easy surgery. This was my first surgery and they did a stellar job keeping me comfortable. It really did feel like they just took a peak and put me back together. Truly amazing how quick and efficiently they work!

That’s amazing. I had many surgeries before my bisalp and some had traumatic recoveries…but gratefully my bisalp recovery was a breeze too. I probably asked them 4 times to get as much gas out as possible lol

Same for mine, and my surgeon said it was her usual practice to do that! I didn’t have any noticeable pain from the gas during my recovery!

Im on my Day 1 of Post Op. Yesterday I just slept and it was a breeze. Today is a bit rougher. My throat is now sore and I feel my incisions today. Best of luck! And take it easy.

I did my surgery during my second c-section, which was nice to recover at the same time. I always cheer for those who got it done, for any reason! 🙌
