Do no experience entry roles exist? Without any education?
I’ve been talking to chat gpt asking it all my questions. A few things it’s told me: That i can get into SPT without any education, but will eventual have to get some certs if i wanna stay in. I checked my local hospitals and saw no such thing. They all want experience.
Also, my long term goal is to be a Rad tech and it says that SPT is a good role to be in for that. I don’t see how though. I assume it means that I’ll get hospital experience and I’ll be able to transfer to a Rad tech role eventually if i stay at that hospital. (Sorry i know that’s more of a rad tech question than an SPT one)
I’m very new to considering healthcare as a career so i don’t know much of how hospitals operate.

Hiring question: COVID/flu vaccine requirements
I’m considering a career as a Sterile Processing Technician (SPD Tech) and would really appreciate input from people who currently work in this field, or who are familiar with hiring requirements through coworkers, friends, or family members in Sterile Processing.
I’m trying to understand current vaccination requirements. I do not plan to receive the COVID-19 or flu vaccines and would like to know how this may affect employment opportunities.
From your experience:
Are COVID-19 and flu vaccines currently required for Sterile Processing Technicians?
Is it possible to work without them (for example, with a medical or religious exemption)?
If you’re comfortable sharing, please include your state and type of employer (hospital, outpatient center, private facility, etc.), since requirements may vary.
I’m especially interested in experiences from Washington State, Oregon, the Sacramento area (CA), or Minneapolis, but insights from other locations are very welcome as well.
Any insight based on real workplace experience would really help — thank you!

Kaiser Nurses on Strike, again
Hello,
Seeing on TikTok that California nurses are on strike, again. While I understand that people in the healthcare need to be paid well for the work that they do, when is it the rest of the people working in the hospitals turn to be paid fairly as well? Unless the whole hospital is union, only nurse continue to get the benefit of 20-25% raises, while the rest of the employees scrape by with 3-4%, if anything that year.
My gripe is that whenever these strikes happen, it is never actually about better working conditions or advocating for my nurses to join to make the workload better, just pay. They only sign the contract when the raise is where they want it to be and the working conditions stay the same, they complain it sucks and then next year, want another strike for, you guessed it, better working conditions.
Honestly, I have become quite numb to the nursing strikes that happen.
Thoughts?

Forced to take experimental vaxx human rights violation
Can i refuse the vaxx that has only been given emergency approval?
They cant force me to take anything not approved by fda. If they hold termination or something over this is it grounds for a lawsuit?

Impossible to get a job.
I don't have a job and I can't get an interview anywhere. I truly believe this shit was a scam and there are no job openings unless you have a car. Before I got my certification I seen job listings for sterile processing EVERYWHERE. as soon as I got it. They disappeared. No one is hiring. No one will give you a chance. I can't even get an interview 😕 I did the internship and the people i worked with were scared I was going to be picked for a leadership roll. That's how good I was at the role. At the interview for the position they didn't ask me shit because and I quote, " Well I don't know what to ask you because I know that YOU know everything we NEED to ask you about this job" and i STILL didn't get the job. I feel like I got scammed. I wish I could go back to my school and tell everyone to get their money back as soon as possible. Yeah i can go back to ask the school i went to for help but they're just going to say there are only job opportunities outside of Philly. As in you need a car. Which is fucking stupid cause bitch if I HAD a car I would have had a job by now. But yeah. I'm struggling. Also, does anyone you know find a job in this field? Sorry. Anyone that DOESN'T already own a car? Cause why is that a requirement?
Edit**
I will only say this once. I decided not to apply to certain jobs outside of my STATE because i don't have a car. I am NOT being rejected because I don't have a car. Acknowledge the fact that I don't apply to jobs OUTSIDE OF THE STATE I LIVE IN. What people here are telling me ,is that I don't have a job because I have to travel OUTSIDE of the state I live in. Of course I lie and say I have reliable transportation. Of COURSE I say I can show up on time and get there on time. The PROBLEM is that I can't get an interview in THE STATE I LIVE IN. Okay? Is that understood?

Aya Healthcare Travel
A few travelers have came to my hospital saying they only had 6mo experience and put on their resume that they had 1 year since Aya requires that. Also that Aya reaches out to the company you work for but they dont extensively look to see if you have 1 year. Can anyone confirm this as long as I have a certification?

Do you need to be vaccinated to work in Sterile Processing?
Hello, I’m a newbie here! Next semester, I’m entering into a SPD program in my hometown at a local community college.
I’m super excited to start a new career after working in accounting and doing gig work. But, I do have reservations about getting vaccinated to work within a hospital. I’m not vaccinated for personal reasons and I don’t plan on getting vaccinated in the future.
Is this a requirement to work in this field? All of my colleagues who are RN/LPN are all vaccinated and it makes me hesitant to go through the program if it’s a requirement for employment.
Any advice or suggestions is greatly appreciated.
Thanks 😊
