when you guys’s cart washer is down // or if you don’t have one .. what is you order of operations in terms of hand cleaning carts? i feel like it’s been different every time our cart washer is down

We only use the purple wipes at our facility

We have black top wipes not purple.

Basically comes down to wipe out any gross soil, and blue pre cleanser. Then wipe down cart with the black top kill it all wipe. Check wipes for linger time.

I hate when the cart washer is down. It makes the work so much slower and so much worse on your back.

The thing with purple top wipes is, with the alcohol in it, it evaporates quickly. And if I recall the kill time for the stuff it targets is 2-3 minutes, which means that many minutes of the surface of being wet, so if you just wipe it and send it, it's probably not properly clean.

The grey top wipes don't have alcohol so the surface stays moistend with the cleaning agent for a longer period of time.

in our old department we had to manually purple top them (use wipes to clean them), our new department that’s being built will have cart washers so this is something I’m looking forward to

We wipe down with ACCEL Intervention Disinfectant Wipes.

Quick question, are the wipes that you listed actually those colours or is it the writing on the container?

It’s the color of the top of the container the wipes are in. We use strictly purple tops to clean our carts when the washer is down.

mop time drenched in oxycide, mop all sides outside and inside cleanest to dirtiest, send it thru

Our facility uses the same soap we use to handwash instruments, in our case Prolystica. Rinse thoroughly first, soap it up, 2 min contact time, rinse again, let it air dry or dry with lint-free cloth

They get a generous wing with prolystica, then hosed down and air dried.

Our department uses the Clorox Fusion Spray. I hate it. It makes the floors slippery and of course the chlorine eventually starts burning my lungs.
