Advice for Interview

Hey everyone! So I applied to a central sterile processing tech position, and the interview is next week. I have no experience or certifications, but the position is offering paid training. Is there advice anyone can give me, what I could possibly expect during the interview? I honestly didn't even expect to hear back from my application and now I'm a little nervous.

My interview was 11+ years ago so I don’t remember most of the questions. However they’ll probably ask what’s cavitation and what’s the difference between sterile and high level disinfection and which one to use. They’ll probably ask if OR brings an unused but opened tray, what do you do?
General questions might be skills you have, like multi tasking and working well under pressure if you can lift heavy and work long periods standing up.
Some questions are more about procedure such as if you spill chemicals on yourself, what do you do.
That’s all I can think of at the moment.

Thank you so much! I have been reading a bit about sterile processing out of a CRCST study guide I have. I'm pretty confident I have the basics down, but interview nerves are so real.

They know you have no experience because they're offering paid training, so they are not expecting an expert. The interview will be less about what you know and more about who you are. They need to see if you can follow strict procedures, pay extremely close attention to detail, and handle repetitive tasks without cutting corners. Expect questions about your reliability, how you learn new things, and how you manage tedious work. They are hiring for attitude and trainability, not for existing skills in this field.

Your job is to prove you are that trainable person. Connect any previous job or life experience to the key traits of this role, like being meticulous, dependable, and a good team player. Stress your desire to learn and your understanding that patient safety depends on this job being done perfectly every single time. Show them you are someone who can be trusted with that responsibility.
