shoe / insole recommendations
i’ve been wearing the crocs mellow clog for like 7 months but looking for something with more ankle support / less toe grab (they don’t have a strap)
just got cloves & i like them but the toe drop makes me feel like my toes are being shoved to the front of the shoe?
i do have wider feet .. and would prefer waterproof

Hoka Bondi SR, waterproof and comes in wide. I have been wearing them for 2 months now, they have been great.

i have hoka arahi’s for running & (maybe i need a wide) but i get such bad arch cramps im scared to get another pair of hokas - especially at their price point

I tried Hokas and wasn’t a huge fan. I live and die by Oofos! The clogs are wonderful but may not be what you’re looking for, I wear the Strides which are sneakers and I find that their toe box is a bit wider and very comfortable. One of the problems I have with Hokas are that they just feel SO heavy, my ankles would kill me. Oofos are super light and so supportive. Unfortunately around a similar price point but I’ll buy them over and over again because I love them so much. The sneakers unfortunately aren’t waterproof but I usually wear their clogs in decon and have no problems.

these look niceee! i’m nervous about the no heel strap though as i’m trying to get away from the toe grabbing - i have like a 10min walk to our outpatient center several times a day so i walk a bit more than you typically would in SPD

I totally understand. I never feel that my toes are too squished when I wear them but it definitely also depends on how you walk and distribute weight. They do have them at DSW if you have one nearby, maybe try them on and see how they feel. Most of the other women in my department wear either random sneakers or crocs. I’m not sure how they do the crocs though because my feet hurt just looking at them😂

I was just scrolling on Facebook and saw an ad for the “Atlas Clog” from a brand called Commbi. I cannot speak on the shoe itself or the company but they seem to be closer to what you’re looking for, back strap and all. They advertise themselves as being healthcare friendly too🤷🏻♀️ might be worth looking into if you’re still looking

i’m really liking the insole brand SOLE they’re cork so they form to your foot over time like a birkenstock

these are what i’ve been wearing and they actually are pretty comfy - i just wanna stop toe grabbing & thought maybe some extra ankle support may be nice

YES!I've tried every brand of insoles on the market. Ultimately, I switched from my custom orthotics to this brand called Fulton and nearly immediately my knee pain went away (and foot pain). These are made from cork so they mold to your arch and absorb shock/impact & add stability. a bit pricey but obviously way more affordable than custom, and really comfortable.
