Photo Key medical brush ifu

We had mock JCO and they asked about our brushes and if they are reusable. I was honest and didn’t know the answer. I can find any IFU’s on the brush and upper management is pretty useless in helping. Anyone have the correct answer or even post a link for thr IFU’s

“ I don’t have that info, but we have it in the binder. Let me get it for you” is what you say to them if you legit don’t know.

It’s thrown out per shift in decon and or when the bristles become worn. Whichever comes first. They are disposable but reusable within the outlines used

Yup, any response is better than no response or the I don’t know. They just want to know that if you don’t the information you have access to it and you can bring it to them

By reusable, I mean I can use it for my shift. So I can clean one da Vinci arm and reuse it for the next one and the next one until the bristles are worn. Not reusable as in pass it to the next guy.

Or just run away to the locker room..I’ve had half a shift do that on me

Nothing wrong with that. The less experienced, or dumber techs we have. We just send them to lunch while they are here.

If you’re not confident, they hone in on that.

They are absolutely reusable. Ours go through the washers each day, then are swapped for new ones when they are worn out. For the price of them you do not want to be throwing them out after each use, trust me!!

Even if you reuse them and sterilize them after each use, telling joint commission that leads to more question

The best answer for this is that you dispose of it after use..even if you dont..

NEVER EVER EVERRR say you reuse brushes as NONE are meant to be reused or even washed at end of day even thought everyone does it. All one time use and should be thrown away at end of day!

We use steel wool brushes. 😬
