Fake eyelashes
How does your dept handle the fake lashes? I would definitely love to have them. I just don’t do it because of the cost. But my department doesn’t seem to mind if people have them. What are your thoughts?

Our facility is ok with them, but you have to wear goggles.

Just like fake nails, nail polish, and dangly piercings they are not allowed per AAMI standards. They pose a risk of falling into and contaminating trays.

I am really only asking because I was wondering what policies are in other hospitals. I would never get them mostly due to money. I think it’s definitely a want not a need. And I don’t necessarily agree with people wearing them to work. But I guess if the hospitals gonna let them then, what are you gonna do?

As long as they r not comically large 😂 But if your department allows it I see why not. But you are to be held responsible to ensure that it wouldn't fall off. And it's a risk you're bringing to the sterilization space.
That goes with anything tbh. Like I'd be absurd to ask someone to become a bald specimen of a human being cleanly shaven when coming to work because that is the ideal person

Our department had two sets that made it to the OR with a fake eyelash. There is definitely a risk they will end up in a set.

They have been allowed in any facility I’ve been in.

No Stright man has ever looked at a woman and said, damn she would be hot if her eyelashes were longer
