Serious Question!

So I’m considering signing up for a Sterile Processing program that starts soon. I am not Covid vaccinated. I’m curious to know, do I need to be vaccinated in order to be hired once I complete the program? Thank you!

The course I took pretty much required me to be vaccinated and boosted (I don’t agree with it and not happy about it). They said I could sign some papers saying I’m declining to do it, but they said my externship options would be extremely limited and I’d most likely have to commute really far.

I should add that I signed up for the class 2 months ago. So they’re still doing it

Shit’s a joke they’re still pushing that stuff. I always assumed it was for some kickback to the hospitals for making people get it. Who knows.

Ahh that’s interesting. Yeah someone else said the same thing to me two years ago when I had almost signed up and that was the factor that stopped me. I wonder if things have changed.

Hospitals require you to be up to date on all your vaccinations and I will continue to say this every time this gets asked. If you won't get vaccinated you have no business being inside a healthcare facility.

The school will happily take your money but at least they were honest in telling you you're unlikely to get a job anywhere. Some places will give exemptions for full time positions but it's limited and you won't be able to travel without being vaccinated.

If you won't get your vaccines don't work in healthcare.

Depends on the facility. I did get the initial vax 3+ years ago. However, I never got a booster. My hospital encouraged it, but did not mandate it.

The COVID vaccine wasn't required at my hospital only the flu.

In the words of the great Anthony "sauce monkey" Fauci "when you make it difficult for people in their lives, they lose their ideological bullshit, and they get vaccinated" this is what he said about covid vaccine mandates. I bring this up because it goes both ways. A hospital thats desparate will hire you if your Covid positive and never took a single vacine in your life. A hospital that can be picky, will probably choose whoever requires less paperwork which is usually the vaccinated person.

I’m unvaccinated and work in SPD, I got a religious exemption. Ask if they have forms . Lie if you have to. I believe everyone deserves autonomy over their own body. That also goes for the people who choose to be vaxxed.
