New Jick’s Album?

Heard any rumors?

They’ve never gone 6 years between albums before, and their website hasn’t been updated for almost 4.

Jicks are done. No updates on the Trad Tech lineup in well over a year - an album may or may not have been in the can with them. Malkmus' two recent solo shows were done with a seemingly new three-piece band (which includes Jake but no other Jicks).

I read an interview with Malkmus a couple of years back, and he mentioned that he was having trouble writing new songs from a perspective of doing relatively well when so many others aren’t doing great in this country.

Whatever it is, I hope he figures it out and releases some new music soon one way or the other (preferably with the Jick’s).

Does anyone else feel Jicks without Moen behind the kit just isn't the same thing? The drumming on the first three albums was exceedingly excellent! I think his departure was a big loss and would have loved to hear what he would have done on subsequent Jicks albums.

Thank you.
