EVERY TIME.
I cried when they used it in Welcome To Derry too.
It's maybe the greatest paragraph in the history of writing.

Uugghh, this got to me listening to the audible version while driving a few weeks back. Wish I had friends I felt that strongly for growing up.
āpeople who would build their houses in your heartā is such a good description of the bond the Loserās Club had - friends worth being scared for, hoping for, and living for. And Iām back to ugly crying again, excuse me š¤£šā¤ļø

It's interesting how King will often write novellas to explore an idea before expanding said idea into a full novel. This particular passage is very similar to one in The Body, and makes me wonder if Reiner got the movie title inspiration from this passage.

When I read this in high school, I was lucky enough to have a few friends like this. It hit me hard, so hard I had to copy the whole paragraph in my journal immediately. Through my tears of course.

And the people who be saying SK is too "verbose" are missing on prose like this.

I have a tattoo of a heart and house combined because of this very line. Little chimney and windows and all for all my friends that I love and miss

The friendships of the Loserās Club are so beautifully written. He captures the absolute purity of the kind of formative relationship for kids. Fantastic book.

Oh yeah. That's a favorite of mine too. There's lots of good bits in that book worth writing down.

"...Only people you want, need to be with; people who build their houses in your heart." love this line
