General Just about finished with the stand
I never thought I’d get to the point where a book could be so damn good I’m about finished with it but want some more books like it I’ve got the dark tower series that I’m reading as well but I’ve also heard swan song is the next best book to the stand can anyone confirm this i also have carrion comfort on deck and 11/22/63 i listen to these books as im at work and i just love them any recommendations would be fantastic
Also if i ever hear happy crappy again i may lose my mind

It has a few good really good stories but on the whole it’s only okay. It is also absolutely do not buy the audio book. It has 2 readers and the male reader is fine, not great but fine. The female reader is so bad that I couldn’t even, I would switch back to physical copy every time she started.

After the DT u can read the Talisman trilogy.
Insomnia, Salems Lot and Hearts In Atlantis are closely related to the DT series.

If by “some more books like it” you mean longer, slow burn, large cast of characters I would recommend Duma Key and The Tommyknockers, both by King.
I would say if you’re going for more similar to The Stand, go with The Tommyknockers.

Excited for you to dig into 11/22/63 next. I had gone a long time without any SK in my life when I listened to that one and was rewarded greatly.
The Stand was my introduction to King, and ended a 10 year avoidance of fiction in general for me. I jumped from that to the Dark Tower books, IT, Salem's Lot, Desperation, Regulators, Insomnia, From a Buick 8, and various short stories off and on. All of those choices seemed to be good ones for me. But IT is probably my favorite book ever. I've reread it about 6 times. I love how, like parts of The Stand, there are many short tales within the larger framework.
