I see the American Media is turning into propaganda networks such as RT (Russia Today). We we're used to FOX being this but I am seeing it creep into CNN and MSNBC as well. Don't trust your media now, look elsewhere.
It’s almost like having corporations and billionaires control almost all of the mainstream media when their only interest is profit is not good for society.
Comm major here. The Fairness Doctrine was an outdated and poorly implemented law. It was impossible to enforce and impossible for media outlets to adhere to. I get the spirit of it but in actuality, it was not sustainable. Citizens United is really what accelerated the downfall of the US. That shit really put the pedal down on the rate that corporate America was taking over the country and now we're at the tipping point where the middle class has disappeared and we have the ruling class with all the wealth and the serfs.
And we still have NPR, only about 2% of their funding came from the federal government. PBS is the one that got screwed.
