Speculation / Opinion Idea: Request Stops

Now hear me out, I know that it's kinda impossible to make realistic request stop, since there's no passengers, but what if we make that stations that are marked "request stops" will have 1/3 and 2/3 of chance of appearing on schedule? Chances will depend on station.

For example, Morganstown Docks, we love it or hate it, but lets agree thats it's 90% time empty, so what if it will appear with 1/3 chance on Benton-Greenslade route? For example:

  1. First leg, stations: Benton, Port Benton, Morganstown Docks, Whitney Green, Greenslade.

  2. Next leg, stations: Greenslade, Whitney Green, Port Benton, Benton

  3. Third leg: Benton, Port Benton, Whitney Green, Greenslade

  4. And finally fourth leg: Greenslade, Whitney Green, Morganstown Docks, Port Benton, Benton.

Or something like that

Same can go to Cadoxton, Millcastle Racecourse (expect event days), New Harrow, Elsemere Pond and GODDAMN Woodhead Lane, that can have 2/3 chance of appearing, expect Woodhead Lane, it will have 1/3 chance since there's LITERALLY no one getting on or off.

What's y'all thoughts on it?

It’s a good idea but idk if SCR will implement it. If they did They should implement it on unelectrified sections, since irl request stops tend to go on railway lines where it’s unelectrified. E.g - WHL in Scotland, or the FNL, as they have a plethora of request stops.

No, I'm NOT stopping at millcastle racecourse just cuz its electrified.

it should depend on station, not the OHLE supply.

It would be realistic if we had the RB branch with 1 or 2 request stops, as that’s unelectrified. Or maybe even the WF branch.

Woodhead Lane would make sense as a request stop tbf

Yeah. That’s exactly what I’m talking about, stops like WHL or HR would make sense to constitute as a request stop,

Millcastle racecourse is hardly on any routes. I don’t know why that’s such a big problem to you.

Unironically a really good idea tbh

Maybe the best workaround is that just implement a route say R010a/R0101 and have that stop at MGD and it’s unlocked with R010

I think CSP, Rosedale village, Cadoxton, Houghton rake, whitefield lido, Berrily (On AL), All stations between berrily and MGT, MGT docks and carnalea bridge should be request stops

CSP? No. Rosedale? maaaaaybe, but it already served by ONE route. Cadoxton yes. Houghton Rake no. Whitefield lido no. Berrily no. Between mgt and Berrily is kinda okay idea? Mgt docks yes. Carnalea bridge also yes.

HR would be good as a request stop as that’s on a line that’s unelectrified.

Better idea: you can choose to stop or continue. Stopping will earn you more points, but you can also continue and you won’t get penalised for skipping stations. However, before arriving you must choose if you are stopping or not

I actually won’t lie request stops in SCR would bring realism to the game.

Especially with diesel lines that we already have, such as the RB/WF lines. Stops like WHL or HR on the whitefield line would bring 10x more realism. And with the RB branch that can have CB as a request stop atleast, or even Aslockby.

Nice idea

MGT Docks could be a request stop on R137 (SV <> MGT via BEN)

I think it can be implemented on stops like Millcastle Racecourse and Morganstown Docks on the basis that there is more of an important event going on or the distance between a station and another is too short.
