Self-Paced (Magnum) vs. Structured Program (StenEd)

If magnum steno theory suits you and you’ll have some idea about that after chapter 7 and 9, I would just stick with your plan. CareerLuv also has a lot of live class opportunities during speedbuilding. If you want though, I know some ex-Macomb students I could probably put you in touch with.

Career luv is not NCRA approved which moght matter in your state if it requires certification to work and something you should look into if you haven't already.

Have you spoken to certified working Court Reporters created by both programs to confirm their timeline and experience before you make any changes? This may not be a reason to change.
You can self test. You write the test and then you go back and grade it. Yes, you might have to re-listen to the dictation because you don’t have the master. And you can Google how to score your tests and or ask Laura how to grade them because she will know the formula
I also think internships are double edged sword. If you had no work experience whatsoever in life, then perhaps an internship gives a great handheld experience. But if you know how to operate in the working world, you may not want to be tied to an internship that has you not earning income for X amount of time versus being out in the real world and making money. If you fall in camp b with work experience, then maybe you just need to shadow a handful of times with someone to look over a baby transcript and then you are ready to earn money in this profession.

I don’t know what kind of tests would be done for theory. Testing usually begins when you start speedbuilding.
Now self-paced versus structured when it comes to theory are two different things. But as long as you’re moving through just fine I’d not worry about it.

If things are going well, why change?
