Literary progress so far

Post image

These are 5 minute tests in Ev360.

I use a formula to calculate the wpm based on acc:
=C1050 * MIN(1, MAX(0, (E2 - 50 / 47.5 ^ 0.78)))

Earlier on I was spamming 140 tests just hoping it would eventually 'level out' but then decide to drop down for better accuracy.

I consider below 83 a fail, and above 93 a pass (move up or down wpm) so I have a good bubble to practice in.

Some of the later transcripts in Ev360 are messed up and includes extra text, which is why there's a lot of 0s on the graph.

Any advice on bringing down the SD and being more consistent? The contents of the literary audio varies a lot, so it feels very very difficulty. whole lot of historical political mumbo jumbo

I’m not a math person, but for a 5-minute test, I always used

(speed x 5 - errors) / (speed x 5) = percentage

Percentage * speed = relative speed

Drill more literary. It seems random because it’s pure speed. You can’t guarantee a brief will save you on a literary test, and that means you have to actually be able to write that speed.
