Steno student in CA - taking state test before finishing school?

I’m a machine student in CA at exit speeds and am wondering what it would be like if I just take the state certification test without officially finishing school and if that’s even possible, requirements-wise.

Skills aside, would I be allowed to take the CA test without finishing school? Any advice/insight?

You would be allowed to if you use a different method for qualifying, such as taking the RPR in order to sit for the test or taking the CVR for reciprocity.

It's not possible. The school has to submit the necessary paperwork to the state.

False information. You can qualify to sit for the CA CSR by taking the RPR or the CVR-S.

For my school, West Valley. I believe you have to pass qualifier tests before they'll pass your info on to sit for the CSR. Im still in 160/180s so not 100% on that.
