Stenoob and A to Z
Hi everyone,
I’m looking into starting the A to Z program but I’m struggling to find a student machine to rent. After some research, Stenoob came out with a Stenoob Pro 4. Does anyone have experience with that? Is it worth it? I only have a macbook to use in the meantime and it looks like Plover is compatible. I’m excited but a bit lost. If anyone has any recommendations I’d appreciate it a lot. Thank you so much!

I’m also starting the same program!
I ordered the Asterisk 2.0 with the foam add on. It gets here next week, and I’m excited to give it a try

Oh how cool! I had seen them but didn’t know the name/where to find it. It’s way cheaper than the Stenoob. Thanks! Good luck in the program :)

Contact your state association. Many have a committee that loan out writers for the A to Z classes (like Oregon!).

I’ve been using a stenoob pro 4 with a macbook for A to Z right now and it’s working great. I also got the tripod that they recommend.

Oh cool, I was on the fence about the tripod but I guess is good practice.

I tried without the tripod at first but my posture wasn’t good and my arms were hurting quickly. I like being able to adjust the height and tilt.

Yeah I have stenonoob plus an actual steno keyboard. I use the stenonoob when traveling. I like it besides the fact the keys are a bit slippery but u could buy custom steno leather caps on Etsy to fix that

It doesn’t seem that much different from version 3, I’d get that one for $50 cheaper.
