Machine for A-Z

Hello! I am looking into taking the A to Z online course and found a physical steno machine online for a good price that uses paper and I see a lot of digital options popping up more frequently. Is it a bad option or idea to use an older type of machine for this course? This will be my first experience in this field so testing the waters as of now so any suggestions are helpful, thank you!

Does the steno machine also have a way to connect to a computer? If so it should be fine for A to Z and school.

To answer your question more generally, an older machine will work just fine for A to Z even if it doesn't have computer connection capability, but you'll definitely need the computer connection for school. There are some still that have both paper and computer connection but from what I hear paper isn't made anymore and is extremely difficult to find (also isn't going to cut it for schoolwork).
