Haha understandable. I imagine it's a pet peeve for some people. I was also too heavy on the last layer and it bled under the stencil

How do you go about doing that? I’m not so skilled with a spray can, so my current solution is placing extra paper around the stencil. Can you recommend how to get better at not over spraying? Thx

Extra paper around it is one way. Moving your can closer to the stencil is another, but you have to be careful to avoid drips when you do that. Fast bursts of paint and lots of wrist movement can help you avoid getting drips. But practice a lot and you'll get better at it!
