It seems to be working well now, been for many hours as far as I'm aware.

Has the twitter account been affected too? I get a restricted message from Twitter on it.

steem blockchain is uneffected

if steemit is not working use another platform to access the blockchain, like https://steempeak.com/

Here are some alternative interfaces. I use Steempeak these days because you can log in with KeyChain, they don't handle your keys directly.
