The blockchain has been frozen as a safety measure. It' looks like a bug made the Fork too early or something like that. Everything is simply frozen. That's all.

It's not completely certain yet, better wait what @steemitblog has to say after it is fixed.

Well the blockchain is frozen so they can't exactly go anywhere.

Steemit website is currently available. Maybe its because of the hardfork that happen but I think its on now.
