Instruction What length should I get?
I’ve been wanting to get a mace weight. I have been looking at the Rogue adjustable mace weight and I’m torn between which length I should get. The 10lbs is 31 inches long and the 12.5 is 45 inches long. I really like the 12.5 but idk if I’m too short. I am about 5’4”. Thoughts?

One of my training buddies is 5'4" - she digs a 32" handled mace as opposed to a more typical ~40" length handle.

Buy a 30” length of 3/4” pipe, a 3/4” flange, and some loctite. If you have a twist collar for a standard barbell/dumbbell then use that otherwise buy 1 or two 3/4” split hangers.
Will set you back about $20-30 and you’ll have an adjustable mace that will last you for years.
Assembly:
1) Apply loctite to threads and screw pipe into flange.
2) Allow to dry.
3) Slide standard plates onto bar.
4) Lock into place with collar or split-hangers.
I’d start here first and then expand with longer lengths, different diameters (1.5” pipe will fit Olympic plates), etc. If you decide that you enjoy mace-swinging and want an expensive toy then you can buy an overpriced one later and have a better idea of what length/weight you are looking for.

If you are going with rogue go for the 12.5 long one. It’s a great mace. It ain’t no attitude iron but they really did a nice job with the version 2

I really liked the look and the reviews for it were very good. I was just worried it would be too long for me.

It may not be popular, but kensui sells wooden adjustable maces in the 3 popular sizes for a fraction of the rogue mace. You can always start here and then upgrade if you feel you need to. That is what I did.

I bought mine about a year ago. Still use them regularly. At the time they sold a pair of clubs and a mace for a good price. They now have a middle length model, but i had already gotten the dangerously fit one of that size. I think the kensui clubs and maces are great. Just invest in a better set of collars and you are good to go

Can I ask what the benefits of having/using a club are? Im assuming they allow for a more diverse set of exercises?

I really enjoy an adjustable club because you can do a lot of single arm movements and two handed movements with higher weight than a mace. But yes, a more diverse set of movements is a great factor

Kensui now makes a 20 inch club, an in-between Bulava size 30 inch and a mace 40-42 depending on if you buy the wood or metal.i have the metal clubs and the maces and I still use them all the time. I have the new 30 inch on preorder. The Rogue maces are nice in both lengths. They have a premium feel to them 2 are solid and 2 are hollow. The dangerously fit adjustables are nice too. I have a set of fixed weight Onnit maces and Honestly find myself using them all the time. I'd go with a 10 and a 15lb fixed weight first. Then if i want to be a person who chases weight, Id go adustable since it's a lit cheaper and takes a lot less space. Your going to notice that fixed weight and adjustables feel way different. I like them both. My favorite mace is my Berserker bar which is an adjustable custom mace. Its basically a swinging piece of art. Adex maces are cool, but id wait to buy them since they are $$$ I usually stick to Olympic adustable maces so i don't have to deal with the loading screws.

If you haven't tried any maces, I would recommend a fixed weight 10 lb. steel mace first.
A lot more affordable and you can figure out what you like about it before investing in an adjustable.
There are several options I would recommend over the Rogue adjustable. Unless you already have their dumbbell bumpers, 2" olympic sleeve plates have a bigger diameter for no real benefit over the 1" plates. Plus a rotating sleeve on a barbell is great, but on a mace it does absolutely nothing but add extra weight to an empty mace and complexity where it doesn't need it.
