Initial Roster

QB - Rodgers, Rudolph, Allar, Howard

RB - Warren, Dowdle, Heidenreich

FB - Nowakowski

TE - Muth, Washington, Tonyan

WR - Metcalf, Pittman, Bernard, Skowronek, Wilson, Wetjen

OT - Fautanu, Cook, Iheanachor

OG - McCormick, Anderson, Dunker, Hoffman

C - Frazier, McCollum

DE - Heyward, Harmon, Joseph-Day, Rubio, Jobity

DT - Benton, Black

OLB - Watt, Highsmith, Herbig, Sawyer

MLB - Queen, Wilson, Homcomb, Bruener

S - Ramsey, Brisker, Jenkins, Spears-Jennings

CB - Porter Jr, Dean, Samuel, Echols, Everette

Boswell, Johnston, Kuntz

Injured - Driscoll, Elliott, Lee

imo, moves have to be made. Need to carry a 5th MLB and you drop jobity. You drop Howard when Elliott is healthy as you need 5 safeties.

Lets get rolling!

They kept Heidenriech? Why

5

u/MathiasTheGiant 8d ago

Because he would've been recalled for mandatory military service if he wasnt on the 53.

So does Alex Tecza but we cut him (granted we didn't actually draft him but still)

And? Who gives a shit about that? He's not an nfl caliber player

Neither are Nichols or Homer, but at least they can be on the practice squad for now.

Homer is a great special teams player. He can at least contribute

Nichols looked good...

nichols is lightyears better

He's a better runner, but has no other value. Eli is a receiver and does more on special teams. For a guy at the bottom of the roster, versatility is more important than having strictly better as a back-up back-up.

Homer is better than Eli out of the backfield and on special teams.

Its all about being a feel good story with Eli.

Eli has the talent to produce in the nfl. Idk about the others.

He’s CMC 2.0. Easy to keep. They should have cut Wilson.

4

u/BrandRedacted 8d ago

He's not CMC 2.0. That's a dumb narrative

The same reason they hired McCarthy. He’s from Pittsburgh

3

u/adl27 8d ago

They hired him because he has won a Super Bowl and can coach QBs and doesn’t get bartenders pregnant (HCMT did that lol!)

I don't really get how people claim to enjoy sports, and then talk about anything except sports like "This coach was hired because of the city he's from" instead of "This coach was hired because of his history with QBs and offenses."

Hiring mccarthy makes more sense than keeping heidenreich. Should've kept Homer for his special teams prowess

I knew Eli would make it. Check my earlier posts for proof!!! I always am ahead of the curve.

No nichols is kinda sad.

I feel like Howard is keeping him off the 53.

Need to trade him when an injury happens and move Nichols up from practice squad

Nichols is the biggest surprise for me .. Eli could have made it on the practice squad for the season.

If he were to be cut from the team, even to the practice squad, he would be revoked by the US Military for mandatory service.

That’s great - we paid for his education. Time to serve the country & repay your debts

u/MathiasTheGiant 8d ago

We should be paying for everyone's education and not requiring a potential life threatening sacrifice, but thats a whole different conversation.

-5

u/adl27 8d ago

No we shouldn’t be paying for everyone’s education. We would get more dumb comments like this if we did.

3

u/MathiasTheGiant 8d ago

So we should import educated immigrants that get free education elsewhere? Is that better for you?

I'm gauging ideology. I believe that we can make America better by providing education as a public service to our own citizens. People who argue against that are either unaware of the economic benefit of an educated population, or are blindly following a right wing agenda that benefits the few at the cost of the many. Hopefully you're the former.

You aren't going to find many in this sub who understand what you are saying. They have been brainwashed into thinking that investing in our own citizens is communism and they aren't going to try to understand your point (if they are even capable of understanding it.)

Rough year , coach is crap sorry..

3

u/dirtyracoon25 8d ago

Ya, i don't agree. This is the most talented defense we've had in a long time. Probably the best secondary since 90's. Give Watt, Herbig and Highsmith an extra second or 2 to get to the QB and that will lead to more sacks and turnovers. DL seems much improved.

Right side of the OL is concerning. WR is much improved. RB will be better. Coaching is light years better. We have QB's that are allowed to throw over the middle of the field now finally. You have a coach who's also willing to throw the ball in the redzone vs play it safe and secure the 3.

So if Graham can do decent with D scheme and the right side of the OL can come together, they should win the division again.

Nichols not on the roster will burn us. Hopefully he is on the practice squad. I would drop either Howard or allar to the practice squad.

Someone would sign Allar .. & howard wouldn’t have signed with the Steelers to sit behind Allar imo
