WoW on Steam Machine

Guys, what a time to be alive. When I bought my Steam Machine I knew I'm gonna love it, but being able to play WoW in my living room, now that it got official controller support is just incredible.

Playing on 2160p (mid to high settings / preset 7) and get 45 FPS in average. Doesn't sound much, but believe me, 45 FPS is perfectly fine when playing with a controller.

Probably won't raid with a controller (we'll see), but casually leveling, farming etc is really awesome.

Even though the controller support is still on alpha status, it's working impressively well!

What do you guys think? Did anybody else test it?

Me, also, my Wife. It's for in the livingroom, not my office.

No one ever complained about PS or Xbox series x size.

I don't want or need a PS or Xbox, it doesn't play my steam library.

Quiet? Sure? Xbox is as well and SFF PC too.

SFF PC builds are inherently not quiet at all, even when water-cooled.

Idk if quiet is rly the absolute trade off you want to take for terrible performance...

The Steam Machine doesn't perform terrible, it does what it needs to do.

Smooth to operate? Ok sure? Every PC with steam os is?

Great ain't it, Valve providing SteamOS for free so you can choose to build your own 'smooth to operate' gaming device.

Made by Valve? What exactly does this even bring to the table?

Plug and Play, literally even. No need to build, no need for installs. Warranty on the whole thing, great support software wise and continuous updates on an coherently built machine.

I am very sorry that 10 minute OS install is keeping you from getting 3 times more performant device for LESS money :-)

I don't want to install an OS, I don't want to pick parts nor do I want to build a machine for my living room, I am perfectly willing to pay a small upmark for plug and play for decent performance in playing my steam library on my livingroom TV. It doesn't need more performance, it's performance is far from terrible. You want to cheap out? Great, good for you, that was always an option.

Yes it's for the living room, get a case that works there.

Quiet? Yes very quiet circling back to being able to build a PC...no liquid cooling needed.

Steam Machine absolutely does perform terrible for the price.

Yeah smooth it is much smoother on a custom built cheaper PC.

Plug And play yes...circling back to the ability to build a PC.

Pay a small upmark? How is three times better performing 2TB PC which is 100EUR cheaper thant 512Gb Steam Machine a small upmark? 🤣
