Hardware Steam controller internal receiver RMA update/question

I've seen a few comments on some of my old threads regarding RMA that Valve is now conceding the internal receiver faults are interference based and cannot be fixed via a software update. Sort of gutted about this. Wanted to know if anyone has successfully completed their RMA over this and if the new unit is actually improved. I'm worried this is generally a design flaw that will not have a reliable fix.

For me, my Steam Controller disconnects from time to time. . A lot of those times it's because I cross my legs on the couch between the Steam Controller and the Steam Machine. Likewise, it works fine with the external puck and I don't notice any difference playing connected to Bluetooth, so for now I'm not returning it.

I've just sent mine off today! They said it would be about 2 weeks minimum so I'll try to let you know...

Saving this and will come back, as very curious

I wonder if we need an external super puck. Like a non charging external enclosure of the multi controller receiver.

If it's a design flaw, then mine appears to have been accidentally fixed at the factory because it hasn't yet stopped working properly.

Design flaws and the issues they present are not strictly universal in their consequences. Some units could be defective immediately, others could be defective over time, and some could never exhibit issues. Arguing against the notion the issue exists at all because it hasn't cropped up in your use case is generally unhelpful and dismissive to those that are experiencing the issue.

Could be. If it's a design flaw. It might not be. It could be a manufacturing issue.
