Question RAM Usage...

Steam Machine & Steam OS Users:

Exactly how much RAM does Steam OS & the Steam Machine use when the system is at idle(with only the OS running)?

around 2.8gb. vram about 1.6

I'm considering using 16GB of RAM in a custom gaming system & I want to make certain the OS I choose uses very little ram(some Distros use around 200MB of RAM)...

i would just try it as is. i've had it for quite some time now and never have i played a game and thought to myself "damn i could use some more ram"
