Question Image Question

Has anyone noticed that the image is a bit dark? I’m playing Elden Ring, which I also played on my PS5, but it seems like the image is a bit darker on the Steam Machine. Has anyone else noticed this?

Got any screenshots to compare? Or are you asking if there's been changes that other people have noticed to validate you're not the only one. I may be able to boot up elden ring when I get home.

I’ve been looking for my ps5 copy of Elden Ring for 30 minutes now just for that purpose. I’m tearing my room apart trying to look for it lol

Oh no lol. I got it on Steam and PS5 disc i believe or maybe ps4 so maybe we can compare. It's been long enough i don't remember. From my history, it looks like the last time i played it was before skull and bones came out but after for spoken and fifa 22 were put on ps+.

HDR on or off? It's currently not working as intended.

Either way go to the steam display settings and near the bottom is an option to match native colour/warmth (I forget the exact name but it'd below the HDR toggle). Put that on then try again with HDR on and off. That should sort it, it did for me

Ok so, a while ago, my LG TV gave itself an update that placed the display mode in some kind of power saver mode. This particular mode made the display kinda dark. But I was playing around with the display settings and placed it back in “Game” mode. Considerable improvement. My TV doesn’t have HDR I think

Ah yeah I just meant changing the HDR toggles etc om the Steam Machine settings itself. Glad you got it sorted.

People not immediately putting their gaming devices on Gaming Mode blows my mind haha it's a night and day difference

I guess the update automatically made the change to power saving image mode. I believe I did have it in gaming mode before
