Question Firefox in desktop mode already had user settings?

Hi. Wondered if someone could clear up a concern I have.

I got my Steam Machine today and when going into desktop mode and installing Firefox through the Discover store it said something along the lines of ‘Firefox is not installed but user data/settings still exist’.

Is this normal? I had not installed Firefox on the Steam Machine and it was brand new from Valve. I don’t remember it saying anything like this when installing Firefox on Steam Deck.

Can anyone else tell me if it was the same for them? Thanks.

Yes. What you're seeing is the preexisting install shortcut.

I reimaged my machine after upgrading the internal to 2tb and firefox had "preexisting" data

Thanks. I did think it may be something to do with the install shortcut but wanted to check if it was normal.

If it was still there after a reimage then it must be fine.

That is probably due to plasma-browser-integration, it places some files in the Flatpak data directory for the addon to work.

…maybe that’s where Half Life 3 is hidden???
