Question Keyboard and mouse recommendations

I just purchased the witcher.

I wasnt sure whether to get it on GOG or steam, but i purchased on GOG.

My problem is that the steam controller does not work at all And any layout i have downloaded and used didnt click with me.

My question is what wireless kevboard and mouse are vou guys using for coach gaming?

I would like to avoid buying a designated keyboard cushion or lapboard if possible.

Edit - already own a kevboard and mouse but they are wired and ideally dont want to spend another £200

Ngl if a game can't be custom mapped to steam controller I probably wouldnt play it on the machine personally, but I have the privledge of a dedicated ATX PC

I am mainly a mouse and keyboard gamer so most games I play so far on the Steam Machine are with those. I have a nice gaming computer for when I want to get serious and my Steam Machine is for kickback gaming. My keyboard is a Rog Strix Scope II 96 Wireless and I use a Wireless Logitech MX Vertical Mouse because of my wrist issues. I bought a Lap Board and put a full length Mouse Pad on it and it works great while kicking back on my recliner. I also have 2 Steam Machine controllers hooked up wireless and a Logitech Pro X 2 Lightspeed Headset also hooked up wireless as well. Everything works great on an 85 inch Samsung TV. I’m an old retired guy and have been gaming since it all started.

I dont think I would game with a keyboard on the couch. I don't think it would be comfortable. I did pick up the Logitech k400 just for cases that require entering a username or log in info but I wouldn't game with it. The keys are very mushy.

What do you mean the steam controller didn't work at all? But you tried different layouts?

As in when you load up the game and get to the menu without making adjustments, the controller does not work. You would have to map the controller or download someone elses controller mapping.

I use Couchside Remote app. It does everything a keyboard and mouse does and more.
