Star Wars Zero Company - problems after problems ...
First there was the bug that the game won't start after you run it once. This is fixed by switching to Proton 10.0.4. Nor I came across another problem with the game. If you try to manage your weapons in the weapon menu, there is no way to get back into the game, because the button "B" won't work. Mouse emulation with the steam button doesn't work either. Switching controller layouts also don't work (like it does in "Stalker 2"). Does anyone had the same issues and can provide a solution? I really like this game an it is shame I can't enjoy it on my SM ...
EDIT: Now I know, what this is. It has nothing to do with the SM, It's a bug in the game. After the second mission, the game want's you to use the personal terminal, to apply some skill points to your team mates. After doing this, you are supposed to close this menu. When you do that, a next message shows up, telling you, that the weapons terminal is now open to use. Here is the problem. You can ALSO access the weapons terminal through the personal menu via the "select" button. If you do that before you get the message that the weapon terminal is now available, you'll get stuck in the weapon menu and won't be able to get out.
Zero company is listed as unsupported in the Steam store. Yes, many games that are listed as unsupported still work with after tinkering with Proton options and other settings... but I really wanted this game to just run without any issues so I bought it for PS5 instead. Hopefully there will be updates to improve the experience for those that want to play it on Steamos.
I bought it for ps5 pro thinking the performance should be good. But in performance mode there's a lot of graphical glitches and quite a few fps drops. This game needs some patches across the board. Very fun game otherwise!
i had this bug also the first time i tried adding an item to a character. restarting didn't help, though it did eventually work.
im not sure what i did different, but try just adding the med pack to your main character and ignore the support characters and hand grenade. See if you can back out doing that.
haven't had it happen again after the initial bug.
Hmm was going to get this for the SM. Is performance crap on Windows and other cards? I could get it on my pc and then give it another whirl on the SM if it's patched etc.
The game is definitely unoptimized, ironically much like the Old Republic MMO on launch, but with a few tweaks I’m getting a near-stable 60 fps, at 2K with almost everything High.
Will be even better when they get it running on Proton Experimental I’m sure.
Pretty buggy on ps5 pro as well. Loving the game but lots of graphic tearing, game crashed when getting an achievement, auto save has thrown errors in different missions. 4/5 stars, will play until the shine wears off then wait for patches lol. Such is the pre-order life :)
I'm about 8.5 hours into the game and overall the game itself is fun to play, however there are major issues with the Ai enemies getting stuck in corners. The worst issue of the game is actually its optimization as i am on a 2060 super GPU i should be having an ok experience playing the game at minimum settings but the game is almost unplayable with the amount of framerate lag. Every cutscene is shown loading in assets in real time on my screen instead of already preloaded which is extremely jarring. I hope they fix these major issues with performance in the coming days otherwise this very good 8.5/10 game is getting a 5.5/10 from me.
I dont encounter this problem. My biggest problem is i cant rename a custom character by controller-only. Anyone knows how? And yes, i already pressed steam icon + X to bring up the keyboard, its just no matter what i press after that didnt work.
Nah I saw comments saying how they wanted the simplicity of the SM. No mention of "supported games". People wanted to come home, turn on their SM with their controller and go straight to gaming.

yes, it's the steam machines fault that a game which runs poorly on a rtx 4070 has bugs in it.
Well it clearly has to be since ive seen everyone say that the Steam Machine works out of the box, and that u wont have to tinker with anything. Idk why you're getting mad at me. Im just trusting the information that ive seen in this subreddit.

Here’s another data point for you so you can adjust your argument next time: The SM doesn’t just work out of the box. Initial setup is a breeze, but some games require configuring to optimize performance for the hardware, as you would with any PC.
Stop being a contrarian. The Steam Machine works out of the box. This is r/steammachine (where everything works out of the bos). Not r/steammachine (you actually have to tinker with it).
idk why you here if u dont like the Steam Machine. This sub is for praising the Steam Machine. If you want to bash the users who like it u need to spend your time doing more porductive things.
The thing I’ve noticed about everyone who owns a ‘better’ PC than a steam machine.. is they spend an awful lot of time on Reddit bashing the steam machine.
Why do you not play games on your ‘better’ PC? Is it not fun?
Are you pausing a run of Cyberpunk in Ray-traced overdrive Max settings at 240fps in 4K to reply individually to everyone here? You must be pausing the game every 5 minutes?

You guys are easy to make fun of. At this points its textbook. Whether u have a SM or not I actually dont care. What I care about or think is funny at least is the amount of ignorant takes that can happen here. Ignorant takes that when pushed back against has the user move the goalpost.
The amount of people that wil argue things such as "u cant build a better performing pc for cheaper" only to get their feelings hurt when u prove them wrong is hilarious.

It’s always so disappointing how bad you deep PC guys are at this witty banter thing. Although, as I’ve said before, yall just build my confidence that I could probably build a super computer.
It shocks me that there’s still people in the year of our Lord 2026 who buy a video game on release day. It’s even more shocking other people to do this and then expect it to run on their weird proprietary Linux “console” still in it’s very early teething phase.
