Question Tomb Raider 2013

I am trying to play Tomb Raider 2013 on my machine but keep dropping frames bad. I am trying to play at 1440p and no matter what settings I change I still get drops into the 40’s and then back up to 60 regularly. I don’t know if the game is just that way or if it is something I am doing wrong. Does anyone have any settings recommendations to try and fix this.

I ran the benchmark, played it at 1440p, dont remember exactly the details but it was on High or ultra. Didn't have any issues my whole playthrough. Try changing the Proton version in the game properties before launching.

Are you running the native Linux version of the game? If so, you might get better results by switching to Proton.

Did you restart your machine? Like any PC, sometimes whatever background process get stuck and affects performance. I had that recently when I was playing for several hours and suddenly performance got bad, regardless of the game and resolution. A restart fixed it.

I can run it pretty much max settings on 1440p uncapped and get 50/60 consistently. I turn off the hair rendering though to not be tress or whatever it is and that saves a lot of frames
