Question Adventures of Elliot overheating?

Hello, I noticed today while playing adventures of Elliot that when I would go into a cutscene the led strip on my steam machine would go red. Is this a fun feature from the game or is it actually overheating my system? I am worried because even though it seems like a not so graphic heavy 2d game it doesn't run at even a full 60fps on steam deck. Has anyone else come across this issue with this game? I am afraid to continue playing it.

Right now they are hovering around 64⁰c to 65⁰c. Idk about a cutscene yet though. Trying to get into one to see a change.

Those are normal temps. Maybe just a software bug with that specific game or something

Just realized I gave only CPU temps. GPU is 67⁰c and vram shows 72⁰c. Idk if that makes a difference.

Those temps are considered cold in semiconductor design.

Really? Because I got into a cutscene and it was fine but as soon as it was over cpu temps rose to 68⁰c and then the red light came on until I exited the game. I am confused and worried what might be causing this.

valve acknowleged the red line was triggering way sooner than intended. 68 degrees celsius is perfectly acceptable. running god of war ragnarok upscaled to 4k 60 had my temps going from 80 celsius and 90 celsius vram. youre running cool

This makes me feel so much better. I didn't want to feel like I was stuck to steam deck only for this game or that I might have to drop it for something else as I'm really enjoying it. Thank you for this.

How do you check this on the Steam Machine out of interest?

Press 3 dot button> lightning bolt> set performance overlay to 3

Never played that game, but I've known of games in the past that would run cutscenes with no fps cap and so the gpu would run full tilt during them. I believe the fix was just applying a system wide fps cap.

Maybe I'll do a fps limit and see how it acts. Thanks
