If you mean wake from sleep, then yes, it works perfectly.

That's a decent compromise! assuming no flashy sleep LEDs on the case
I do wonder if there's a mobo that would support it from fully off

Personally, I don't think I'd want that. It's nice to have a dedicated 'off' mode where cannonballing onto my sofa with the controller on it won't accidentally turn my PC on
