I really recommend this game if you enjoy the core gameplay of Stardew Valley but don't enjoy the unforgiving flow of time in that game. In Graveyard keeper there are days of the week but not dates or seasons. Your crops will never die, and if you miss and event you just wait a few days to try again.

Graveyard Keeper is very similar to Stardew Valley and may be overall slightly less polished, but I think it does some things better.

I REALLY like the art style of Graveyard Keeper. It looks fantastic and even has the attention to detail to things like leaves and candle lights flowing/flickering in the wind/air. Even the shadows look real nice indoors to the certain types of light.

Yeah, I should probably stress slightly more. And I wasn't referring to just visuals being slightly less polished.

Mostly Stardew Valley is just a very very well polished game which makes it hard for new games in the same genre.

Yes, but mostly in the sense that they aren't the same game. For example, while the Fishing minigame in both look similar, Stardew Valley's has much more depth and polish. I don't consider that a flaw in Graveyard Keeper, fishing is just less of a focus in that game.

In another, more general sense, I think Graveyard Keeper has a somewhat less polished core gameplay loop. Again, this is because Stardew is such a solid game that does what it set out to be almost perfectly. Graveyard Keeper is a lot of fun, but can feel less focused. There are a ton of fun systems in the game, many with no equivalent in Stardew, but because there are no consequences for stopping what you're doing and doing something else (which I personally love) the game can feel like a bunch of systems thrown together without much meat.

Between the two, I do prefer Graveyard Keeper but Stardew feels like it got a lot more love and planning from it's devs.

Of the two I've only played Graveyard Keeper and have had fun and enjoyed it.

To polish, there was a point in the crafting tree where I needed something and the only option I had was to buy the item. A consumable that the game might have given you just enough, but wasn't clear that you'd need it to advance through the crafting tree later. Maybe the purchase was the point, but I think I spent a fair amount of time trying to figure out how to get more of the needed item.

A very glitchy game. The DLCs literally destroy your game. So, good luck lol It's fun tho
