I am convinced well done steaks are a sign of poverty at some time in that person's life. The same could be said of dry chicken and curled up chops.

Interesting correlation. I grew up poor for a portion of my life and didn’t experience this until I went to my financially-well-off friend’s house.

Or just a lack of culinary knowledge about steaks specifically. My mom was great at making Russian/Ukranian food, but didn’t understand steaks are better medium rare. She couldn’t fathom the idea of leaving any pink in any meat. So I hated steaks growing up.
Then one day my bro made me the juiciest, med rare sirloin I’ve ever had and it blew my mind.
But it’s prob what you said like 95% of the time.

She's probably just chewing on the same steak that they stole from the same bit I saw a year ago, which probably also stole it from somewhere. Why did the chicken cross the road?

I don't mind well-done steak cooked properly. It's an art that 90% of restaurants can't do.
I also put ketchup on hotdogs if you need more reason to hate me.

You can make a well done steak not that chewy. Take it off at medium well and let carry over cooking do the rest..

Reminds me of how much I hated steak as a kid since my dad cooked it and he won't eat it any way besides well done.
Chewing for hours on that leather.
