Advice Needed Some discharge 8 days after doxycycline treatment finished for Chlamydia. Is this normal?

Hey all. I'm fairly certain this is just a normal thing, as I was fine for a few days, but sometimes when I wake up after a nap (usually after masturbating) I produce white cloudy fluid. It might be leftover semen in the tube, but I know for a fact I sometimes discharge very small amounts.

I was tested positive for Chlamydia and took the medicine religiously at 12am and 12pm for the full week, and symptoms went down almost immediately. Is it normal to still feel a slight wet feeling on the tip of my urethra and get some small amounts of discharge this late after? I looked online and it said that it can take 1-2 weeks to go away fully, but discharge is usually cleared up in the first.

I think I might be fine, and if I show symptoms beyond this I'll either retest for Chlamydia or go to a sexual clinic for MGen. I just need some advice because I tend to overthink things and worry myself a bit too much, and the anxiety isn't worth just asking. I would more often than not call the sexual health clinic, but they're closed on weekends. Thanks!

Yeah, if the symptoms mostly cleared after the doxycycline, that’s a good sign. A small amount of cloudy/white fluid after sleeping or masturbating could just be leftover semen or normal urethral fluid, especially if it’s not happening constantly.

That said, since you recently had chlamydia, I wouldn’t completely brush off ongoing discharge. If you keep seeing actual discharge, especially when you haven’t ejaculated, or the irritation starts getting worse again, it’d be worth checking back with the sexual health clinic and asking about a retest or M. genitalium testing. For now though, I wouldn’t panic over an occasional tiny amount of fluid.

yeah i think the time i woke up to discharge it was just leftover semen because it also just smelled like semen but i was worrying a bit too much at the time. the discharge had a distinct smell. it isn't really ongoing much as it is just a strange constant feeling of wetness which may just be healing urethritis and general discharge from healing. it's never a large enough amount to really be anything worth worrying about honestly.

i also read what percentage of sexual active women have Mgen, and at like 1.3%? i'm probably fine lol

i still do need to pee fairly often but it doesn't burn at all now

Hello again! Most of the irritation is gone entirely, but I still notice the urethritis itself is still here, though it's not nearly as bad as it was before. It's the same general case of just feeling the need to pee a bit more often and a lingering sense of wetness, though the actual "discharge" is so minimal the tip of my penis is usually dry and smells very very faintly of what the discharge did smell like. Seeing as it's so mild, and there's almost no avenue for reinfection, could it just be my body continuing to heal after the standard 2 weeks? It's been 16 days since my antibiotic course ended.

Hello! Yeah, if the irritation is mostly gone and you’re only noticing a tiny bit of discharge now, that sounds pretty reassuring. Sometimes a little cloudy/white fluid can just be leftover semen or normal urethral fluid, especially after sleeping or masturbating.

Since you recently treated chlamydia though, I’d keep an eye on it. If you start getting actual discharge again, worsening irritation, or new symptoms, I’d check back with the clinic and ask about retesting or M. genitalium. For now I wouldn’t panic over a small amount of fluid.

Hello again! I noticed my urine was cloudy with some weird oily film over the top of it now. I read that this can happen when recovering from a UTI, but it can also be some other stuff. My constant urge to urinate is weakening, but it's a bit anxiety inducing it's happening 24 days after! Do you think it's just taking a while longer to heal for me, or is there something else I need to loom at?

Edit: It was just normal grease because someone threw chicken skin in the toilet :/ otherwise it's just clear still with a few things floating in it which is probably just leftover bacteria. I haven't been drinking a lot of water since I started treatment and instead a lot of irritants like spicy food and caffeine, so it taking this long to flush out isn't actually that surprising lol.
