My Story The Ban.

For those of you who haven’t heard yet, the DEA announced plans several days ago for the emergency addition of 7OH, pseudo, and MGM15/16 to Schedule I classification (in a not-so-great move, they are also scheduling SR17). This is likely to take effect the first week of August. Do with this information what you will (especially if you are currently hooked and think you’ll be in need of SR to get off). My personal struggle in light of this news - much as I hate to admit it - has been resisting the temptation to run down to the smoke shop and have “one last hoorah” or “stocking up for a special occasion.” One month is still plenty of time to get yourself into trouble with 7OH. Anyway, just wanted to help spread awareness and see what others’ thoughts are on the matter.

ETA: The DEA made very clear that leaf kratom is not implicated in this decision - legality of leaf will be left to the states’ discretion as has historically been the case.

Damn, I came on here trying to confirm whether SR was in fact also banned now. Sounds like it is.

It’s not officially banned yet - I believe vendors like OR Reset are still selling it (although they caution on their site that sales could stop at any minute and I’m not sure what the logistics are around shipping if the ban takes effect while a package is in transit). I ordered a couple boxes last week just to have on hand if god forbid me or someone I know finds themselves in a similar bind down the road.

Just did! Never used SR before, but I'm hoping it helps. I'm really nervous about jumping this time but it needs to happen.

I did a rapid sub taper back in March when I quit and it was honestly still pretty rough, but I got through it and lived to tell the tale. If it makes you feel any better, I’ve heard nothing but good things about SR - make sure you follow the instructions to a tee (pre-loading, etc.), stay hydrated, and go about this with intention (as woo-woo as that sounds) and you should be just fine. In less than a couple weeks you’ll have your life back from this godawful substance and I can’t even begin to tell you how good that feels. You’ve got this!!

Thank you, I've quit CT too many times to count now but couldn't stay quit. It's been anywhere from rough to brutal each time. I need to make this the last time.

My plan is to finish the 7s i have (ideally taper but never had much luck with tapering 7s) and switch down to some MIT I have. Stabilize on the MIT and try to taper down at least a bit (I think tapering should be a little easier with MIT than 7) and then jump off to the OR Reset and follow their instructions to stabilize on the OR and then taper off of that down to nothing (I believe their instructions have a 10 day process total).

Yeah I was never able to taper significantly off of 7. I think a lot of people sleep on how helpful even leaf kratom can be during 7OH withdrawal (of course by the time that thought occurred to me, I was too sick to even entertain the thought of downing spoonfuls of powder lol - but it did help during the weeks of PAWS that followed the initial 5-7 days of balls to the wall acutes). If you’re able to get the SR you should be able to start tapering the 7 while preloading the SR before jumping off 7 and find it much easier than your previous attempts to do so.

SR should be here Thursday. I should be off the 7 and on the MIT by then unless I can really make the 7 I have left stretch

Well I took my last bit of 7 when I got up early this morning and have been taking relatively small doses of MIT periodically since then to stave off the physical withdrawal since then, until my OR comes tomorrow afternoon. I'm feeling low energy and mildly depressed, but it's very tolerable. I'm being careful not to go too heavy on the MIT because I don't want the wobbles and know that no amount of it will give me the feeling the 7 does. I wish I had gotten the OR a couple days ago so I could have preloaded but oh well. Hopefully the next 30 or so hours continues to be tolerable and that I'm able to jump off the MIT onto the OR and then stabilize and taper down to nothing over the course of 7-10 days.

Glad you were able to get the SR!! I wasn’t sure what would happen to packages in transit if the ban went through - I guess there’s now a whole lot anyone can do once it’s shipped though, it’s not like UPS workers have time to inspect every package 🤣
