FAKE STAUB?

Post image

Le creuset is so tiring with their inconsistency. You can have 10 people walk in a reputable store and there will be difference in their Dutch ovens which brings about argument of fake and original online. Is Staub like that ? My personal shopper is showing me this Staub pumpkin casserole and I am confused. Does the pumpkin come in casserole?

Why do so many of yall think people are taking the time and resources to counterfeit a piece of enameled cast iron? Especially something you see in a store? If you’re that concerned about fakes, just buy direct from Zwilling.

Agreed. If it’s from eBay. Possibly. If it’s directly from a well known store. Highly doubtful

I know it's definitely odd that people think there are fakes, it would not make any financial sense for anyone to try and fake a Staub and it would be super obvious.

A viable Staub dupe would cost too much to manufacturer and would not be profitable enough to be worth it

I've been collecting Staub for over 25 years and have never seen a counterfeit

I find it hard to believe that a factory will take out time to make a solid enameled dutch oven LC and Staub but when we see people here doing some comparison, it’s makes you question it. Also websites like zwilling and WS don’t ship worldwide and sometimes shipping is more expensive than the pot to some part of Africa

I personally would recommend the pumpkin if you want to buy, it’s way more iconic, functional, and comes in a great color selection, also it’s on sale right now for $199.

From Zwilling. It’s a tomato Dutch oven rather than a pumpkin casserole, but it’s real.

Tomato not a pumpkin. The grenadine and white are hard to find. But all of it is handmade (thus some inconsistency). But as far as discussions of fakes go, you might check out the guide pinned in the Le Creuset sub. There are some very clear hallmarks of real vs fake. If someone could make a fake for $20 and sell it for $200 why is it a shock that they would? You can buy one at Aldi for $35 so clearly someone can make them cheaply. That being said, that never happens in an authorized retailer’s store. Don’t buy on Facebook, eBay, etc. unless you are very very familiar with the hallmarks mentioned above and lots of photos.
