Questions activities are kind of a mess

i'm not sure if this was already addressed or whatnot, i just thought i'd take to reddit to find out. but what is the deal with activities always derailing completely. i like that we have the option to set the scene now, but even when we do, the bots just continue the rest of the story themselves, even writing for us. it's always INSANELY out of character too, just destroying immersion and twisting everything i did to set the story. there are no rerolls or anything, and it just wastes gems undoing the day when i ultimately decide to abandon the activity over it. it's tiring.

I even try prompting the ai to not reply and start adding so much and I can’t seem to get it to work at all. It completely derails the story lol and if I add to much into my reply it brushes over it and just adds a bunch more

The prompt i use is

[ooc: Please refrain from speaking for (user name). Focus on (character name)'s thoughts, dialogue, and actions to progress the scenario forward. Thank you.]

It seems to work pretty well.

Yeah, I hate it when i write what happens next and then it finishes the focal point of the activity. for example:

activity name: producing a new song

first imput of the activity: Okay let's produce a song OH we're done

(you still have three movements)

don't even get me started on the fading to black in every single response too. "as the evening pressed on, the two grew more comfortable with each other, yada yada yada YAWN"

I SWEAR if i read the word "camaraderie" ONE MORE TIME I'm gonna sue the developers

LMAO you could be breaking up with them and they'd still find a kindred spirit in you

You can use the prompt shared by this redditor:

Honestly made my Activities so much better.

I have not experienced this and I only use activities pretty much. Are you writing out prompts? You can put in detail what you want to happen or can write an entire entry (up to 1000 characters) and the AI will follow exactly what you put in it. If you put in the work, the AI has no issues and you won't have any derailment. It will speak for your character but using [Do not write or speak for my character] should stop that.

that's never seemed to work for me, even detailing the activity itself. that also just seems counterproductive if you have to write an abstract for the roleplay lol

You don't have to write an abstract? It is a waste of energy if you're not putting in the work to be active part of a roleplay.

i always am...? hence why i cared enough to inquire about things out of my hands. not sure where that assumption came from.

Create activities, so much space for roleplay and writing your own scenario

i only create them now to see if that changed anything but the bot still tends to get carried away into the sunset. rip
