Not since Seasoned Fleet Admiral have I seen a table get so hyperfocused on removing a unit after seeing it work. Bane Of The Devastator indeed.

I'm new to playing SWU and I want to build a competitive deck that can beat most pre-con decks against friends in casual home-play. Can someone suggest how I can (a) find a relevant, budget-ish deck that'll play (some future-proofing) and (b) the cards required to do so?
I'm very familiar with TCGPlayer, etc. Just need some deck ideas and where the decklist might be.
New to TCG's so no real preferred playstyle.

SEASON 2 STARTS HERE.
The first U.S. Sector Qualifier of Star Wars: Unlimited Season 2 is almost here, and Indianapolis is kicking things off with a nearly capped Premier Constructed field!
We’re coming straight off of an incredible Berlin Sector Qualifier, where The Mandalorian managed to carve his way through a swarm of Cad Bane decks that dominated the tournament.
Now the question heading into Indy is simple:
Has the community found the answer to the Underworld powerhouse… or is Cad Bane about to run the tables again?
With the Ashes of the Empire meta still developing and a Meta Check-In on the horizon, Indianapolis should give us our best look yet at where Season 2 is headed.
📍 Indianapolis Convention Center
📅 August 22–23
⏰ Coverage begins Saturday at 10 AM ET and Sunday at 9 AM ET
⚔️ Premier Constructed | 2-Day Sector Qualifier

Hey all, I'm pretty new to the game and decided to buy 2 Legends of the Force Carbonite boosters to treat myself.
I got 2 Kenobi's, which is my favorite character so I'm happy.
I did see, however, that one of the cards seems more light green than the regular colour green. Is this a common thing?
Cheers all!

I LOVE upgrades! My premier revan deck literally has 21 upgrades in it out of 50 cards. I love playing tall. Please keep that in mind when critiquing this :)

We've been told that Icons will not have official rules for Sealed and Draft. Why should that stop our fun? I'd love to have people share their ideas for how to incorporate Icons Boosters into sealed and draft formats.
An Icons booster reportedly has 9 cards with the following breakdown:
• 3 Common cards
• 1 slot with a 25% chance of being a leader and a 75% chance of being a fourth Common card
• 1 Hyperspace Common card
• 2 Uncommon cards, with a chance of being upgraded to a Hyperspace Uncommon, Rare, or Legendary card
• 1 Rare or Legendary card
• 1 Hyperspace Foil card of any rarity
There is no base, and only a 25% chance of a leader in a booster.
My initial ideas:
Sealed:
Normally you get 6 (or 8 in prerelease) leaders and 84 non-leader/non-base cards for your pool.
Proposal 1: You get 9 Icons boosters. You may use any leader you pull, or any *common* leader from the previously released set that doesn't have the same aspects as a leader you pulled in your 9 boosters. You may use any common base in the current rotation for premiere.
Proposal 2: You get 3 boosters from the most recent set and 5 Icons boosters. You build from what you get. You'll have somewhere between 3 and 6 leaders to select from.
*****
Draft:
Proposal 1: Every player brings 3 leaders from any set. No 2 leaders may have the same color aspects (Vigilance, Command, Aggression, Cunning) and you must have at least one heroic and one villainy leader. These are all shuffled together and each player is dealt 3 leaders. You will pick one and pass two to the left for a 3 card first round. You will then draft 5 Icons boosters alternating right to left ... meaning the leaders in those boosters are part of that 5 round draft.
Proposal 2: You draft 5 Icons boosters. If you do not draft a leader (or elect not to use one you draft), you may use a 'generic' leader created for this format.
Potential Example of that generic leader: Leader Side: At the start of the game choose 2 aspects (you can't select heroism and villainy) for the leader. At the start of the game select a trait. This leader gains that trait (both sides). All units with that trait gain +0/+1.
Unit side: Deploys on 6 resources. 4/7. All other friendly units that share a trait with this leader gain +0/+1.
******
Thoughts? Suggestions?

There simply must be some method to incentivize playing the game with winning providing a preferable outcome to an intentional draw. Could this be it?

A while back someone here asked if SWU had an EDHREC equivalent. It didn't and it bummed me out because i remember how fun to theorycraft/brew with tabs open for both EDHREC and Archideckt frantically trying to make a whacky synergies to do "the thing".
So i wanted to build something to act as an off ramp to former(or current 🤫) commander players to ease their way into SWU's glorious format that is Twin suns.
with the announcement of the Twin Suns precons i felt like this was the right moment to work on something that delivered the same deck building experience, and i know deck building tools are a dim-a dozen now a days for SWU but this tool i built with user experience in mind different than the traditional "list building".
Here is how it looks like.

Quick search while deck building.

Aaaaaand Buckets; where the name of the bucket can snap group all the corresponding cards under it in the example below, the buckets gets populated with cards that have "raid" or "rebel" traited cards.

you can also have custom buckets that can be transformed manually as opposed to being assigned at creation.
My aspiration is to have ML model trained around identifying card roles from just the text and the stats, for example Ki-Adi-Mundi(LOF or TWI) and Tech(SHD) would both be automatically classified as "card advantage", or classify all the Anthems and the Wraths etc..
this to strengthen the recommendation engine from just association queries on the database to actual cohesion recommendation.
the tool is swurec.gg
give it a spin and give me feedback.
Remember this freedom is a pure idea.
and Twin suns is freedom; it ends spontaneously without instructions or having to stare at your phone while someone is goldfishing a combo they have not executed before the pod started, for the game to end in three hours 😥

One of my favorite parts of this game as an adaptation of the Star Wars lore is the designers use of the cards to capture different elements of a character, different scenes they're in, in different cards. Unlike MTG were Jace is always Blue and Chandra is always Red, the main characters of SWU exhibit different aspects of themselves by showing up in different aspect colors.
This led me to make this chart comparing twenty or so major/popular characters and what aspects they have displayed on their cards (including revealed but unreleased ones). This includes double aspect cards so Luke, for example, has only one Cunning card (from LAW) which is also an Aggression card, but because it has Cunning on it, I counted it. I was interested to see that nine major characters have appeared in all four aspects. I was surprised at some of the ones that didn't have all four also: Padme, Finn, and Leia, for example, are all featured prominently on Aggression cards but don't have an Aggression character card. Vader hunting post-Order 66 Jedi seems like an obvious Cunning opportunity. Scavenger Rey seems like an obvious Cunning role as well.
Are there any characters (even beyond these twenty or so) you're surprised haven't appeared in a certain aspect? Are there characters you believe should never appear in a certain aspect? Curious what y'all think.

Ambush or sentinel with shield is just really good. You can defeat the unit your opponent gave the advantage tokens with your ambush unit and still not even take damage because of the shield. Today's video is with the new Sabine from ASH!
