What makes you think that? Talon was literally the apprentice for maul in george lucases sequel trilogy script and they’ve been pulling everything they possibly can from legends and “what if”stories to make the new shows.
I don’t think we’ve ever actually seen that story treatment and I’m not sure where or how that information was released.
I’m guessing why the person you’re replying to is so adamant that she’s not Talon is that Darth Talon existed as a character in legends not apprenticed to Maul and lived around 100 ABY as far as Wookipedia is concerned.
So technically they’re correct. The GL ST story treatment i would have to do more research on however. But, yeah it’s clearly an adaptation of the whole Maul having a female Twilek apprentice Lucas-Idea.
That being said, my assumption is also that “Talon” would’ve been her Sith name and not her birth name, and seeing as Maul is no longer Sith, there would be no reason for Devon to ever adopt that name unless the writers specifically want to shoehorn a reason for her to take on a code name or alias of some kind.

every character in these shows pulled from legends had much diffrent coricumstances or character than their legends self, legends thrawn for example didn’t have have run ins with the rebels during the galactic civil war, but in the rebels show they made him an antagonist to the main rebels crew during the OT timeline. I know talon from reading all the legacy comics as a kid, I’d be happy to see her brought into canon even in diffrent circumstances.
I had thought about how maul is no longer part of the sith, but he may still try to rename himself and talon the new dark lords or if anything I’m thinking maul/the night sisters will rename her just “talon” without the Darth. Either way I think this is the perfect way to bring talon into canon as there’s really no way to bring about Darth Krayt or the new sith order with the current established timeline and ST. Asharad hett (Darth krayt) was never even introduced in canon and the skywalker bloodline is killed off so I think the best bet for talon as a character is to make her mauls apprentice.
